About Brittany Hunt LCSW
Brittany has worked for 7 years in the anti-sexual violence and reproductive justice movements. She has worked with survivors of sexual assault in clinical, medical, legal, and military settings. In addition to her direct service work, Brittany has provided education on topics around sexual violence for a variety of audiences, including for law enforcement, military members, community-based advocates, and laypeople. Brittany is a graduate of the Tulane School of Social Work and currently works as the Clinical Oversight Specialist at TPN.health.
Sexual violence is an epidemic that affects each and every one of us. 1 in 5 women and 1 in 33 men will experience rape in their lifetime. Sexual assault can lead to PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and lasting physical health issues. Professionals in all settings must be able to comfortably discuss sexual violence, which is still a taboo topic in our society. This presentation will discuss the root causes of sexual violence and how it affects individual clients using an anti-oppression framework.
