Spirituality is a huge component in the lives of many clients and clinicians alike. This presentation aims to help professionals ethically integrate spirituality into assessment and interventions in clinical practice. Spiritual assessment is an essential part of understanding clients’ beliefs, values, behaviors, perceptions and world view.

  1. Define the relationship between religious beliefs, worldview, and values
  2. Utilize Spiritual Genograms, Spiritual Lifemaps, Spiritual Histories, and Spiritual Ecomaps
  3. Apply sensitive practice techniques in a manner consistent with professional ethics and self determination
  4. Identify three spiritually sensitive coping strategies that can promote healing and resilience

Educational Goal:

Participants are expected to gain competencies in integrating spirituality into assessments and treatment.
